Sugar, Spice, and Everything Nice in Sugar Land
Do you have the itch to travel? Want to explore other cultures and try new things? There’s no better place to start than in your own backyard! Sugar Land boasts a vibrant and diverse mix of cultures from all across the globe, and we’ve got the restaurants to prove it. If your schedule is a little too tight to squeeze in a world tour, or you just want to skip the jet lag, we’ve charted a course for you that will take you all over Sugar Land on a culinary tour of the world!
Japan, Indonesia, and China
Our tour begins with a quick stop through Asia via Highway 6. There, you’ll find everything from Japanese-style ramen to an Indonesian-style spicy fried egg called Telor Balado. Whether you want soup, seafood, or sesame chicken, you’ll find something for the whole family to enjoy at Raki. It’s the perfect start to a long, food-filled staycation.
Next, we’ll explore India, just down the road, at Bombay Delight! We all love a good Tikka Masala, but if you’re looking to kick it up a notch, Bombay Delight has a secret dish off the menu, just for customers in-the-know!
“Bombay Delight takes customers into an unforgettable journey of tasty, seasoned meals, including the famous Maysur Masala Chicken Tikka Dosa, which is available only upon special order. Apart from this outstanding dish, guests can indulge in aromatic courses, such as Tandoori chicken, Madras-style beef, or samosas.”
With so many delicious dishes to choose from, Bombay Delight is a destination you’ll want to visit again and again.
Now let’s head over to Italy where Corelli’s Italian Cafe will delight you with all of the pasta and garlic bread you could ever want! They even have gluten-free and whole wheat options for “travelers” with dietary restrictions. And if you can save room for dessert, Corelli’s has a tiramisu that will make you glad you took the trip. With food this good, you won’t believe you didn’t have to go through airport security!
Oui, bien sûr, we could never forget about France! In Sugar Land, we may not have the French Riviera, but we have the Brazos river and CoCo Crêpes, Waffles & Coffee which can be just as good! Treat yourself to an espresso and a crème brûlée crêpe, or if you’re in the mood for something more savory, enjoy a croque monsieur panini. With so many options, we know that when you leave CoCo Crêpes, Waffles & Coffee you’ll be smiling like the Mona Lisa!
We finish our world tour close to home, just south of the border, in Mexico. Raizes Mexican Kitchen is a family-friendly authentic Mexican restaurant known online for its outrageously good breakfast dishes! We know that Tex-Mex food is a staple in Texas, but authentic Mexican food is still worth savoring. And we will definitely be savoring some huevos rancheros con arrachera!
In a city as diverse as Sugar Land, there’s never any reason to get stuck in a culinary rut. We challenge you to give these restaurants a taste and enjoy the rich contributions that shared culture has brought to our community! And remember to tag us on Facebook or Instagram if you have any restaurant recommendations to enhance our cultural appreciation and our taste buds!
