Heritage Friends Summer Social Honoring Sugar Land Veterans

8 Aug 2019

Join the Sugar Land Heritage Foundation on August 8th from 6:00 to 9:00 pm for their second Social of 2019. They have a very special evening planned to honor our veterans. There will be displays created by veteran families, and memorials featuring personal photos and artifacts. The Fort Bend Memorial Wall will also be on site.

For the program, American Legion members will provide an Honor Guard and perform the flag folding ceremony with echo taps. Acapella group Sweet Adeline’s will perform patriotic tunes. American Legion 942 is preparing barbecue and, of course, there will be beer, wine, lemonade, and dessert.

Adding to the spirit of the event, many have been busy creating patriotic wreathes. Members and friends such as Colony One Brookdale and the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary Post 942 Sugar Land have produced an amazing collection. These wreathes will be available for sale – perfect for your own door or to honor a military loved one — and in plenty of time for Memorial and Veterans’ Day. There will also be a small Silent auction featuring delicious homemade desserts.
